Used or Drop Domain Purchase Checklist
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. You can also follow me on Twitter. Thanks for visiting!
Before purchasing a used domain, please check the below checklist as your guidance:
1. Google Page rank – The higher the better
2. Alexa traffic rank – Better ranking is good.
3. Alexa – Check on how the site looks in the past.
4. Is it under cash parking? How long? The shorter period of time is better choice.
5. Check existing backlinks (The more is the better)
6. Search in google and yahoo on the domain name and see the related results in the past. If it has more scam results, beware.
7. The age of the domain (The longer history is the better choice)
8. The estimated value, daily revenue and daily page views analysis (The estimate value is just a guidance – most of the time, it is overvalued)
If you have any additional points, please feel free to share it here.

In most cases google is pretty fast now a days to taking away any page rank from a droped domain except for some foriegn domains PR is usually droped automatically on google now a days for droped expired domains,
Other then that definitly important to check Alexa Rank Traffic is very important if you plan on parking it or building it into a site that is similar to the old one so the traffic is at least targeted
Links in but becareful you can have a site that has 100’s or 1000’s of links in but they are literally useless so check what kind of link backs it has what sort of quality that is more important
good domains to get are ones that are in directories like dmoz yahoo and business
The other thing to check for if you are into the domain business is if the domain it’s self is actually worth buying for example if it is a short domain or a descriptive domain or a domain related to your business

Hi Mize,
If you search any domain name in google search, if they have link other adult or porno sites (mostly it happens in forums and blogs that are not moderated). All those links with dofollow will be tracked and saved in google directory for search results. Links like this is bad for business.
Hope I have explained your question.
Have a great day!

Hi Atniz, thanks for answering.
It´s more clear now and it makes all sense.
I run from those links too, don´t want to burn myself that way. So, I never accept adult, games and gambling opportunities.
A good Thursday. xx
