Tips and Tricks of Smart Advertising on Entrecard

Here are the tips to get more inbox drops count without spending too much EC credits on advertising.
1. First of all, the basic rule to get more visits from Entrecard is to return drops on all your Inbox cards. This is the most basic way. Try to drop at least 300 drops a day. Give highest priority on returning inbox drops followed by high popularity blogs, most advertised blogs, and etc.
2. Take part in Entrecard Forum and write recommendations on other blogs that will increase organic clicks from Entrecard to you.
3. Concentrate on “Most Advertised” blogs and “Most Popular” blogs to buy your ads. Remember, if a site have high popularity ranking, doesn’t mean that it will refer good number of clicks to us. Only most advertised sites with good popularity ranking can deliver good return on our advertisements.
4. Have “Top Droppers” dofollow widget visible above or below Entrecard widget on your blog. Page rank concern droppers are dying to get a spot in this widget. This encourages others to drop more to get top ranking. Rewarding those in your top droppers each month by giving a permalink, EC Credits, etc will bring more returning droppers.
5. Make sure you get at least 300+ drops without any advertising running for you. If you have reach this level, buy one advertising slot with popularity ranking above 2500 (grab if the value is 1024EC). Just one advert per day will do. Continue to do this for every single day. You will see huge difference from 10th day onwards.
Top 10 Entrecarders are getting more than 500 drops each day. If you want to be in this list, try to get at least 500 drops a day for 5 days consequently, as the popularity ranking figure is the total number of drops a blog gets for 5 days.

Thanks for the words of wisdom, I’m trying my hardest these days to keep up with the my drops, I have the blogs I enjoy in my favourites on the EC toolbar which helps, but even with the FF3 NoScript add on, sometimes some blogs just “hang” because there is a script that is not running and it can be quite annoying.

Great posting Atniz! Especially liked tip #4 as it is simple to execute, but very effective!
I already do most of these, and will try to follow this to the letter very soon as an experiment. Might report back (if I actually follow through with following it to the letter).
@Kim: I read a post recently about using image blockers in combination with dropping to drop on blogs fast. I can’t find the original post where I read about this, but you can also find out about it here.

@Atniz – great post and thank you for the tips. EC is still a bit of a mystery for me.
@Kim – I add all EC card sites that I wish to drop on to my IE favorites. I have my favorite window always displayed so I can go right down the list of sites. I drop about 120-150 cards a day and it takes about an hour to complete.
I find that about 50% of sites do not have a new post so it is a drop and run. Of the 50% that do have new posts, I only get past the first paragraph about 20%-25% of the time. The rest are topics that I am not interesting in reading. I try to comment on 5-10 posts a day.
Anyone have a better way?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about this topic. I have a hard time doing so many drops because I have a few blogs. It´s very time consuming for me because I like to read and many times I get distracted, even if I don´t comment.

Hi Kim,
Entrebar version beta really helps. It will filter all the sites that we have dropped and only will show sites that we have not dropped on the particular day. I always drop from Inbox and other category selections. I got favorite blogs as well which I gave first priority on dropping. Every one have different way of dropping styles.
If you don’t go against the Entrecard TOS, then I don’t see any reason you can get banned from Entrecard. Plus, Ben would be very helpful if you face any problem in the family. Dropping 300 a day is not against TOS. Try to use Entrebar more frequently.

Yes. I think that is the trend in Entrecard. I found it hard too. I just missed 2 days this week without doing any dropping in last 2 months because I was sick. It really effect my ranking position from 5 to lower than 20. Hope to get back on track now.

Nice Article Atniz..I am currently following the 1st,2nd and 3rd points..I was not knowing about the 4th nd 5th points which you mentioned.I will surely try to follow the 4th point within few days on my blog smartbloggerz.com and surely due to which I might get daily 300+ drops which will also apply the 5th point over me..

Thanks for sharing wonderful EC insights again. I followed your rules on dropping when I joined EC and I great gained traffic from EC and a lot of benefits. In fact i just sold my first EC sale for $10.00.
However, i wonder about your Alexa, why is it dropping? You are in the EC top and most popular, how come the Alexa is not that good? Is there something i miss?

If you truly want the “biggest bang for your buck” on advertising no one should spend more than 512 credits for advertising. 1024 or higher does not provide value. Trust me, I know. People are spending 2048 and 4096 credits to advertise on my blog and quite frankly they’re crazy in my opinion. You want a one to one ratio on advert credits. Example: If you’re going to spend 16 credits on a blog that blog should have a popularity rating of 80, or higher. Using this formula no one should be spending more than 750 credits at my blog (which isn’t available anyway).
32 credits = 160 popularity rating or higher
64 credits = 320 popularity rating or higher
128 credits = 640 popularity rating or higher
256 credits = 1280 popularity rating or higher
512 credits = 2660 popularity rating or higher
1024 credits (would need a popularity rating of 5320 or higher to be of value, which no one has reached.)

Wonderful post Atniz. I am busy dropping 300 a day. I’m really watching who returns my drops. So many new people join and then do no dropping. Not sure they completely understand the system. Your points would really help them out.

Great post with some great tips. I was away for almost five months and it nearly killed me. I am working furiously to get caught up.
I lost so much in all of my rankings. My PR is still pretty good. But I lost almost 400 points in Technorati.
I have my box pretty close now but now I will ove it up even more!!

I guess I am shocked that people drop so many cards as well. How does this pay off??
My drops are usually hit and miss here and there. Isn’t dropping without commenting or reading impersonal??
Maybe I am missing something.
You have a super looking template … I love the color separation in the 3 columns. Very sharp!!!

Thanks for the tips. I never drop from my inbox but prefer to drop from 30 folders of 10 sites each. I get to know who my regular droppers are and add or delete sites accordingly. 300 drops a day takes me one and a half hours by this method and I prefer it.
