Nice tactic but it is very time consumin trying to subscribe emails one by one, add the fact that it is also time consuming to register for an email account, unless you have some automated programs to fill in all those slots for you

I've looked at this post a couple of times. All I can say is that this falls very much in the realm of Black Hat SEO and should not be practiced by anyone serious about running a site of any repute.

If you want to fake your feedburner count why wouldn't you just copy the count you wanted from some other blog? I've seen people do that. I'm not sure what the advantage of this tactic done either way really is. Most people know that people fake feedburner. I've run across blogs that haven't been updated in weeks or months that have over a hundred "people" subscribed to them. When that happens, the number of subscribers becomes irrelevant, and I will never use what someone displays in feedburner to judge the popularity of a blog. Does this technique still have an affect?

Even before I noticed the faking of feedburner I wouldn't subscribe to a blog just because 200 other people do. Baaah. I'm no sheep.

If you want just to show feed readers number. then I suggest use multiple bookmarking profiles which will make backlink + feed readers too. Using email is not that good Idea !!

Honestly, I don't care too much about my feedburner count. I only have about 30 subscribers but that's okay with me. If visitors don't want to subscribe then I have to accept it. But I really appreciate your tips on how to increase feedburner counts.

I frown on PPP splogs full of broken links masquerading as real blogs, who go around commenting without even understanding the content of the article they just posted under. Oh, and nobody really cares about how many subscribers a blog has. A few marketing types post it at the top of their page, but these days I assume the number is simply from some contest. Someday when people get over 300 cards dropped on them a day, they will understand the dilemma some sites face and how they decide who to drop on when they can't return every card dropped on them.

I frown on blogs that asks people to subscribe to their feed in exchange for a slot in their daily EC drops. I would rather have 10 REAL readers than 300 who don't really care to read the feeds.

I definitely agree that it is better to try and get feed subscribers who really enjoy your blog.
