Who would say no to money? Everyone needs it. On my first attempt to blogging last year, I wanted to make some serious money and gave up blogging after only 3 months without making any money. Now, I’m on 6th month of consistent blogging and I learned a lot compared to my first attempt.
Money can be a good motivation to blogging but if your goal is merely to make money from blogging then you won’t make go far. Blogging needs deep interest and never expecting. Personally, I’m a comeback blogger too. I gave up and return back. This time I won’t leave blogging as I’m more addicted to it than ever before.
Here is a good example of those who don’t make any money from blogging. It is none other than the famous Monkey Fables who gets an average of 700+ visits each day for his blog and still not monetizing it. With that kind of traffic, he can be closer to Pro Blogger, Darren’s or John Chow traffic range.
If you don’t want to make any money from blogging, then you don’t have to worry about visit counts, SEO, attracting advertisers or sit like owl to grab paid post opportunities. If you want to make some money from blogging, then it is time for you to do some homework on all the above matters. A real blogger who wants to make money must be good in SEO, must know how to increase those rankings, and need to diversify ways on attracting more visitor mainly targeted visitors.
So, who said blogging for money is easy? Things can get real tough if your goal is to make money from blogging. All we need is the fire to never ever give up.
Now tell me again, are you blogging for fun or money?

I blog for the love of blogging. My blog contains only one ad and I even think of pulling that ad out! But in the near future, I will blog for money as I’m learning about that right now. However, I will continue to keep my present blog as a personal, non commercial blog even as I start new blogs that are aimed solely at making money for me.
At first I blog bec. I love writing like a diary, but when I learn about money in blogging I did it and gets frustrated if I don’t get the opps. Now I learn my lesson,.. Today I blog, to enjoy to learn and if I get a chance to grab an opps I’m lucky and happy But if not well, its just OK. There still next..ehhe
When I started blogging, I have no intention to make money. In fact, I never knew then that I can make money from it. I started to make money after two years of blogging. Now, I’m blogging for fun and money.
on my main blog, is all for fun. on my other blogs, i have tip jars, but don’t expect to quit my day job….whatever pennies fly my way, i pick them up.
Both. I have blogs that I’m not enthusiastic about but make money, but then I have other blogs that I love due to the subject/niche.
I don’t blog for money at all–no paid posts, no advertisements. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have to worry about analytics and SEO. I want people to read my political blog; that’s why I write, and it’s why I chose writing as a career. So yes, these things still matter.
