Pagerank Distribution Legally and Illegally

Almost every three months once google will update their page rank value towards all the websites available on the Internet. They have just declared that their google bot search tracking reach 1 trillion urls. It is reasonable time to take 3 months to give page rank value for each urls.

Illegal Page Rank Distribution

1. The more incoming link from higher PR (DoFollow type of links) to your url, the more credits you will earn to your page rank calculation on next update. This does not mean by buying links. I don’t know how Google finds paid links, but it is illegal to purchase any links with dofollow. If you buy any paid post with dofollow links, or paid to be in dofollow blogroll then you might get the penalty for your existing page rank.

2. Try to get more back links legally. There are tons of dofollow comments blogs which giving backlinks to your comment. You can start to search on google image seach for “U Comment I Follow” and get it list out. Also, there are many giving dofollow 10 Top Commentators widget. Participate in commenting on these blogs and get your name listed on the widget. This is legal page rank gains which will give positive effect towards your PR.

3. If you are earning something from the links you posted on your blog, like links in paid posts to the advertisers, affiliates links which earning you directly money from your visitors purchase, links in blogroll. There is nothing wrong to give a link to the advertisers who paid to be in our blog. But, it is illegal to give dofollow link to them. So, if you are giving links from your blog for paid links, please NoFollow the links to avoid getting penalty.

Legal Page Rank Distribution

Paid links should NOT DOFOLLOW (MUST NOFOLLOW).As long as you follow this rules, you are legally distributing your links with page rank juices.

More great advice, I’ve started rewarding my top commentators with a dofollow and a nofollow for others, so the more a person comments the better their chances of a dofollow.

Also my advice is to use a plugin to add a nofollow to search pages on a blog.

If you have a DOFOLLOW paid post link, how much do they penalise you? For example, on many of the PayPerPost post opportunities it says they must not use NOFOLLOW to qualify. How do we get around this?

    Thanks for all your advice!

I think legal and illegal are not exactly right words for it. Google is not a police and you have all rights to do whatever you want with your links.

Most people probably get what you mean but that might scare beginners. :)

How about links to images on the web or TinyURLs? I assume they need to have the no follow tag too?

    Rarst,

I think it is easier to understand if mention it legal and illegal pagerank distribution. It is just to make it crystal clear that selling any links with dofollow will be heavily penalised by google. Since, pagerank is owned by google, they have the power to bring down PR6 to PR0 immediately if anyone go against their policy. So, for those who really cares about pagerank, need to know this rules and follow.

    Karen,

Giving dofollow links for your top commentators is something that will give positive feedback to your blog. It is good you have done that.

I think installing plugin to detect whether a link is dofollow or nofollow is good. I think I prefer the old school method.

    Have a great weekend!

    Mspennylane,

This is the problem with some paid post networks. The penalty will drag your whatever current page rank to ZERO. Mine was PR3, and after 2 weeks a PPP post, it gone to ZERO back. Try SocialPark or any other paid post networks that allows nofollow links. It is hard to find one these days.

    Babette,

I suggest not give any dofollow links to those who don’t deserve it. Try to give it to someone who you really want show appreciation or to your family and friends.

Some SEO experts even advice to nofollow on affiliate links. I don’t know how far it is true but it was just fine when I was giving dofollow to my affiliates. Only after paid posts with dofollow, the page rank removed.

Thanks for the info. I don’t do any pay per post, but this is good information to have for anyone considering PPP.

    Hi John B,

You’re welcome. It’s good you’re not in PPP. You can try sponsoredreview. I tried a couple of posts with nofollow and still get paid. But, some advertisers specifically need dofollow links. Some don’t mind.

I hope you like my new post too about outbound link love.

    Hi Laarni,

Maybe you should try to check out all your old posts. If you have high number of dofollow links, try to cut it low. Maybe, it can help you to increase your PR.

Also, check out my new post on outbound dofollow link love.

    Hi Van,

I’m not really sure about affiliate links. I have tried before but never get slammed to zero PR. Only after PPP posts.

    Hi Typhoon,

Great! I wish all of us will spend our outgoing dofollow links more economically. I even shared about it in my latest post.
