This is dedicated to my friend Amy. She made me realize something very important. She said “I love the top 10 drop list…I find that it’s important within the EC community to acknowledge one another whenever we can…people are working hard at all this blogging business and recognition goes a long way!!”
Since Graham Langdon have introduced the statistic and RSS2.0 for Top Droppers long time ago which you can find in your Entrecard/Statistic page. Try to utilize this function to honor your top droppers and give a DoFollow (NoFollow Free) link to them. I got several reason why we should give DoFollow link to our top droppers.
1. They are the most frequent visitor to your blog and this is the least you can do for them
2. Increase your drops. Most of entrecarders and bloggers are looking for one way link with dofollow tag that will give significant value toward their page rank weight. This will encourage them to bookmark and drop on your blog on first priority.
3. Increase Alexa ranking. By now, most of us already aware that any traffic referred by Entrecard widget or Inbox, it won’t be calculated in Alexa ranking. Check my previous post New Alexa Don’t Recognize Entrecard Traffic about it. If your site need to drop on daily basis, most probably we need to bookmark or blogroll which the traffic will be counted in Alexa ranking. This is one strong point why we all need to give credit to our top droppers.
Now is the easiest part. Installation. You don’t have to download, copy and paste any codes.
All you need to do is get the RSS2.0 link of your Entrecard account. Log in to your Entrecard. Go to Statistic. Scroll down to Top Card Droppers. As you can see a small icon on left (orange icon) Click it. You then will be referred to reader with the link like http://entrecard.com/feeds/top_droppers/PNNFY6FNNF/rss2.0 Copy this link.
1. Blogspot
Go to Add Page Element – Select Feed – Paste the link – Name it. By default it is DoFollow and 5 links.
2. WordPress
Go to Widget – Add RSS – Paste the link – Name it. By default it is DoFollow link.
It is easy right?
For those who still prefer to go with NoFollow, you can always change it but I’m not sure how to make it NoFollow. If you know, please share it here.

Hey nice advice. I didn’t knew that Alexa doesn’t recognize the traffic driven by Entrecard!

I just added this. Thanks for the advice.

I will look at this when I get home. I’m dropping for two sites and will have to really work to get in the top 10 for someone. If only I had 28 or 30 hours in a day!

xmarks,
I hope you gain a lot from Entrecard. My last month income of over $107+, Entrecard contributes over $70+ to it. There are so many other opportunities available instead of traffic itself from Entrecard. Like, you can hold a contest with EC credits and get huge number of backlinks to your site in short period of time, and so many more.

I admit I’m new to the whole process but I’m finding entrecard traffic to be very shallow. There is a lot of it (relative to traffic from my other sources) but it is mainly bounced out.

Lynne,
From your WordPress Admin Dashboard,
You go to Design – Select Widgets – Select RSS. Then, add this on your side bar. That’s it.
I meant the “Widget” in your “Design” section of your wordpress admin panel.

I’m quite techno challenged. I want to do this, my blog is on WP and is do-follow. When you say in your WP instruction “go to widget”, what widget do you mean?

Good idea and thanks for the how-to
