Have you heard about tags game before? There will be a small story or QA section on top of the post and previous bloggers links that have played this game at the bottom of the post. You can take part of this game and list your link at the bottom or top of the list and hope that your friends or visitors will do the same. This way, you can get backlinks from their post. The chain goes on with one goal in mind that is to get higher backlinks.
Why you need so many links back to you? Simply, you need to raise your Google Page Rank and link popularity throughout WWW. Does it really work? Page rank improves when you have many backlinks from higher page rank to you but decreases when you link too many lower PR sites from your blog. So, if you are playing tag game, make sure you are one of the pioneers who play the game at the beginning where you don’t have to link out many links.
As you can see the award game also work almost same. Once you receive an award, you need to link to 5 other bloggers. So, they can link back to you while talk about this award. The truth of all these games, awards, etc it to get backlinks. There are so many ways to get backlinks instead of Awards and Tagging.
Again, this is what I learned from Google Webmaster tools about page rank and compare to tagging games and award games that is happening around us now. If you have any opinion about this, please share.

I tend to think that Google does not like when folks do tagging, and ultimately it could hurt your PageRank. But, what do I know? Hope you got the CommentResponder to work that we discussed today, and I appreciate you stopping by my blog.
Actually, it is the quality not the quantity. I would like my blog to boost and be better but the tags seem to destroy the sense and theme of my blog… thus, I find it hard to have one.
BTW, I always comment here.. i am not lost for long, friend. Just look at your past posts..
I have always participated on that games and tags but recently instead of getting a higher page rank I got slapped by Google. Now my blog is now pr1 from pr3..
Anyway to answer your question about the software. I’m using a cs3 photoshop and paint to make my layout, but I’m only using the free template for bloggers.
Well I have never been tagged before so I don’t really have an opinion lol. I guess it’ll be fun though. Regarding pagerank, mine is still at a big zero. I think google is punishing me for housing the entrecard widget, not that I’m worried! I’d rather have consistent readers on my blog than have a PR of 10 with no traffic! btw this is just my opinion hehe:)
I didn’t really care about my PR. I just enjoying blogging as I wish and thanks to all friends my PR just improve to PR2. Those who really care about PR your game is very good…thanks for dropping by and your comments.
Hi, there!
I actually has an award for you, the make me smile award, but I did not think of backlinks. I really wanted to give it to you because you visited my site and gave me wonderful comments.
Thanks for the information though.
I was recently slapped and back to PR0.
Maybe, I have to work harder to get it back.
Take care and have a good week ahead of you!
I’m fairly against tags, I’ll answer a MEME, but generally to make fun of it in my own way. Carnivals are plain confusing? I’ll do one every once in a while…but they seem like dumbing down, not making things interesting. I get a lot of extra visits on a carnival day and generally more comments and those I can keep around, so it’s partially worth it?
If you allow me an honest answer – but this is getting really ridiculous. What is the sense behind all this? I have a website on the internet since more than 6 years now – I have never participated in any game or tags spurt or you want to call all these things. People find me and I don’t care about ranks but I deliver good content.
Isn’t this what it should be about?
That’s interesting. So based on this do you think that I should review all the sites in my blogroll and remove all those that have PR 0 or no PR at all? Would it be correct to say that we should only consider those with higher PR than us for our blogroll? But then, if we do that, we would then decrease the PR of the other site… What’s your take on this? Cheers!
I would like to know how long it takes to achieve a page rank. I know there is a large possible range, but what is the shortest time, approximately. Also, how can you see all the links to your site? Is the WordPress dashboard accurate or should I look somewhere else?
