Simplicity In BloggingInternet trend is changing so fast. If you write long and dragging article, most probably you will get lesser comments compared to points form article in short. There are still people like to read more on any blogs. But, the trend is slowly turning into simpler version.

Comments that we can earn from a post of 50 – 100 words is higher than 300 words post. This is based on my experience in blogging. Of course, this is applicable for frequent blog poster. Not the one who post once a week or once a month. The trend today is to KISS (Keep It Sweet and Simple).

What is your opinion?

    Depends on theme and blog.

    Let’s KISS then !

Really depends on the site. Some blogs I absolutely love contain very long posts yet I still manage to read every single word. There are some that manage to keep it short but are absolutely senseless, useless and/or completely narcissistic, those I tend to ignore and/or never again click ;)

It all boils down to content, I suppose….

The most important thing, I believe, is the title of the post. If it is something that interests me, I will read on no matter how long it is.

Even something as short as this will tempt me to leave a comment but not all short posts inspire me to leave a comment.

Whatever it is, have a great day, enjoy blogging.

  5. You said it perfectly: KISS. I usually just scan blogs, but when something hits my interest, I read it through, even it’s more than 500 words.

Yup, make it short to the point but sometimes I did write a bit longer to give more depth of the story or the background of my post topic.

  7. Guttu says:

Exactly. That is the reason I try to keep my posts short. I can write and stretch long. But I know that most readers go away just by looking at article size.

  8. I also agree that keeping it sweet and simple can attract more visitors as compared to long articles. People are so busy that they want short and concise content. I too will try to write short but meaningful. have a nice day.

  9. Lynn says:

Definitely! Long posts can be boring at times though there are times that i do read long posts if i have enough time but that seldom happens ’cause i have other things to attend do. (“,)

Completely disagree. People that merely write short, staccato posts in an effort to work a link in or for interim posts between paid opportunities are absolute garbage.

You gain nothing from a post that lacks substance. Furthermore, if you are passionate about a topic, you have a lot to say. Therefore, you write longer. I write long posts all the time, because I know what I am talking about and because I like to present ALL the facts in evidence to my readers.

People who worry solely about “How many comments is this post going to get?” are writing for the wrong reason. You should be writing because you WANT to, not because you are craving validation from someone else in the form of a few words.
