There is about 40.6% increase in petrol price in Malaysia and it will take effect in less than 4 hours from now. There is no alert in local newspaper as they mention that they are still negotiating on price hike by this August. I have double check again from Malaysiakini and Thestar website and it is true.
The price hike on both diesel and petrol. Try to get your vehicle fill before midnight. My car is 72 liter and it is half full now. If I go and fill it up, I could save
Petrol hike = $0.78
Petrol need to fill up = 72/2 = 36 liters (half tank)
Total saved = $0.78 * 36 = $28.08 (That is US$8.75)
If the crowd never low, then I might give up to fill up and consider I have lost about $9 compared to those who rushed to fill petrol today.

Wouldn’t it be cool if they found a way to derive the pure oxygen from the air and compress it, then burn it in an internal combustion engine.
ABC Bloglearner,
You’re right.
Foong,
Everyone have hands in Petronas. Any government mega projects will be funded by Petronas. KLIA, KLCC, Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, etc… Huge money has been allocated for these projects.. but after Paklah, huge money goes to Sabah and Sarawak developments. Most probably because BN wouldn’t have won if no support from Sabah and Sarawak.
Shaxx,
Everyone and mostly from Peninsular are hoping that too.
Blueapple,
Yeah… that’s okay… now everyone pays the same amount.
My God….the traffic in Subang was really bad especially near areas with petrol kiosks…..I gave up waiting for petrol that night….:’(
Love your blog’s layout =)
sucks! i just hope the opposition take over soon for the sake of taking over… badawi’s government is a big failure…
Yes, I also don’t understand why Petronas earn so much and we still need to struggle. But according to newspaper, Petronas CEO explained that they have to invest a lot of money and is also paying the Govt a huge chunk of their profits. I really don’t know true or not.
yes, you do have lots of oil refineries there, even in the beaches of melaka and port dickson… it should indeed lower the price..

ABC Bloglearner,
Thanks for dropping by my site. I’m still happy it is still lower compared to other countries. But, it can be done better. Malaysia is an oil export company, when oil price hike, we should enjoy the profits and struggle.
ABC Bloglearner says…
Hi! Actually it is still among the lowest even it has increase.. In Philippines it’s around 3.84 RM and here in Italy it’s around RM 7.5… you are still lucky guys there in Malaysia.. BTW, thanks for dropping an EC.. I apologize for the fact that I cannot drop… i don’t really know why but don’t worry, i am here..:) saying my thanks and giving back the favor in another way…*_^
Take care and best regards,

Foong,
I got two cars and I don’t bring my car to fill up today. Coz, I can see the jam from so far. And I don’t feel it is worth to wait that long. After calculating, I have lost about RM50. Thats okay as I can save more time and concentrate on earning on my blog than just wait with frustration on the long queue. Surely, there is high tension and I think BN Government will face the consequences in next general election.
I know the strong reason is world crude oil price hike. But, Malaysia are an exporter of crude oil nation and Petronas Income Reports shows 80 Billion profit annually. Why these company need that much profit while their nation people need to struggles?
I don’t know what is going to happen to Malaysia. Other oil export nation such as Brunei, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait… still remain low and compare to them we are one of the highest. If the price of oil goes up, the oil export nation should be getting rich. But, this don’t happen in Malaysia. Our people are pressured with increasing cost in almost every sector.
Yes, shocking. But it’s no point telling people early cos then everyone rushes to buy petrol. For me, I don’t think it’s worth waiting my turn to pump petrol. The amount of time waiting and the fuel spent on idling makes it not worth the amount saved.
